The teenager had lost his right hand last year in a grenade blast, while returning from his coaching classes in Kashmir. The boy from Hazratbal area of Srinagar was injured when a grenade exploded during a cross-firing on January 24, 2017. He was first admitted to a medical college in Soura, before being brought to Delhi to get a prosthetic hand. In Delhi, Sahil's father, Mohammad Ashraf Mir, approached a private company, which makes customized prosthetics for amputees. The boy was fitted with a hand which was developed indigenously for him. The Northeast division police are on the lookout for a biker who sexually harassed a 20-year-old private company employee at Amruthahalli on Tuesday night.

According to the police, the woman alighted a bus and was walking towards her paying guest accommodation when the bike-borne suspect stopped and groped her. Though the woman raised an alarm, the biker sped away before passers-by came to her rescue.

The decision, taken following directions from Energy Minister D K Shivakumar, comes after various wings of the Department were flooded with complaints about power cuts on a daily basis. The police today baton charged mining workers who had laid siege to two gateway bridges to Panaji in a bid to march into the city to protest against the iron ore extraction ban in the state. The Supreme Court today came down heavily on the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) for slashing the one-time conversion charge for commercial use from Rs 89,000 per square metre to around Rs 22,000, and asked why such a step was taken.
