The legal fraternity woke up on Sunday morning to the sad news of the demise of veteran criminal lawyer Adhik Shirodkar (80) due to a massive heart attack in Mumbai. The well-known lawyer, who was practicing law for over five decades, complained of uneasiness at around 7 pm on Saturday and was taken to the Jaslok Hospital by his family members where he responded well to primary treatments given to him in the emergency ward. However, when he was being shifted to the ICU at about 12.22 am on Sunday, he suffered a massive heart attack and succumbed to it. His body was taken from his home to Nana Shankar Seth Shamshan Bhumi at Marine Lines where he was cremated at around 2.30 pm. A large number of relatives, friends and well-wishers were present to bid him a final farewell.
