Rajasthan government plans to set up biogas plants in gaushalas to make them self-reliant 31.7.2018 DNA: Opinion
The Rajasthan government will set up biogas plants in more than 2,800 gaushalas in the state to make them financially independent. Till date, the government and Bhamashahs were providing money to cow shelters. After the setting up of the biogas plants worth Rs. 1 crore each, gaushalas will be able to care of their expenses and the gaupalaks will also be able to take advantage of it. The gas plants will generate electricity, gas and organic fertiliser, which will allow each of the gaushalas to earn up to Rs. 25-30 lakh per year. Director of the Gaupalan Department Dr. Lal Singh has claimed that Rajasthan will be the first state in the country, where the work of installing the biogas plants will be done on a large scale. Singh said that the department is planning to install 25 plants by the end of the year, out of which, 5 projects have already been started.
