By OUR CORRESPONDENT New Delhi, Feb. 7: ArcelorMittal, the world’s top steelmaker, said on Thursday that it will start construction of its two steel plants in India by the end of this year. The company will build 12 million tonne capacity (in two phases) steel plants each in Orissa and Jharkhand. "In both the states, we have identified the land and are in the process of acquiring them. The construction should hopefully begin by the end of this year," said executive vice-president (finance and M&A) Sudhir Maheshwari. He said that the company will invest $20 billion over the next 10 years to build the plants. The iron ore requirement for the two plants will be 600 million tonnes each, for which the company is in discussions ...
