The Bengaluru Police has arrested eleven people till now in connection with the assault case on a Tanzanian student. The police had arrested five accused on Thursday, four on Friday and on Saturday they arrested two more. Also based on the preliminary reports, the Karnataka Government has suspended five of its police officials for various charges of dereliction of duties. Scores of African students staged a protest on Saturday against the attack on the Tanzanian girl student. The agitators raised slogans demanding justice for the victim and carried posters reading 'give justice to foreigners' and 'say no to violence'. The victim, a BBM student and three of her friends were allegedly attacked by an angry mob after a 35-year-old female pedestrian was knocked down by a car belonging to Sudan on January 31.
