SHILONG, July 18: The state’s Power Minister, James Sangma has stated that the Meghalaya Democratic Alliance (MDA) government is prioritizing issues related to the power sector in the state as power is one of the essential needs of the citizens.
Having reviewed the power scenario in Garo Hills on Wednesday, James said that to understand the ground realities and in order to improve and upgrade the working condition and delivery of good service to the people, review meetings should be conducted at least twice a year. He also suggested that the concerned officials look into other means of generating energy like solar power, etc. for substitution of energy when necessity arises.
