Eight-year-old Adil Mirza, who is being treated in the burn ward at Thane Civil Hospital after being sexually assaulted and burnt in Bhiwandi last week, wants to meet his younger brother and four other siblings who accompanied him for a vacation to Mumbai. “I want to go home, I want to meet my brother, I want to forget the incident,” Adil said. A 42-year-old watchman of a locality in Thane was arrested for allegedly raping two minor girls at his residence, police said on Tuesday. Representational picture The accused, Datta Indulkar, called the two girls on different occasions in the last three days to his house in Kolshet area on the pretext of allowing them to watch television, they added. He then locked the house from inside and raped the girls, aged 7 and 11 who lived in his neighbourhood, at knife-point, Kapurbawdi police station's sub-inspector R K Gaikwad said. He also threatened the girls with dire consequences if they informed about the offence to anybody, he said. Two held for raping minor girl in Thane 27.12.2013 Mid Day: Columnists

Two persons have been arrested for allegedly raping a minor girl in Dombivali area, police said on Friday.

The accused, who were identified only by first names, Ajmad (20) and Furshid (22), were arrested from Dombivali in Kalyan division on Thursday night for allegedly raping a 14-year-old girl, Manpada police station sub-inspector Nilesh Patil said.

He said the duo, who worked at a construction site near the victim's house, on Wednesday night waylaid the girl when she had ventured out of home to answer nature's call and raped her in a secluded place, taking turns. The girl narrated the incident after returning home following which her parents lodged a complaint with the police, Patil added.

The duo have been charged under IPC sections of rape, kidnapping, wrongful confinement, criminal intimidation and under relevant sections of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO), he said.

Hyderabad: A local court today convicted a youth and sentenced him to 10 years' rigorous imprisonment in a 2013 case of kidnap and gang rape of a minor girl, in which three other accused are juveniles. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 1,000 on the convict, Mohd Salman, an auto-rickshaw driver, according to a release from city police. The 14-year-old girl was abducted on December 14, 2013 by four youths, three of them minors, who sexually assaulted her from December 14, 2013 to December 17, 2013 at two different places in the city, police said. Ahmednagar (Maha): A complaint of rape has been filed by a minor girl against a 19-year-old youth, who last week was allegedly paraded naked on a donkey as a punishment for having an affair with the girl who belongs to a different caste, police said today. "The 15-year-old girl filed a complaint of rape against Shubham Bharadia last night. New Delhi: The government on Friday raised concerns over prevalence of child marriages in the country which has shown an increasing trend in last three years. In her written reply to a question in Lok Sabha, Union Women and Child Development Minister Maneka Gandhi said that the National Crime Records Bureau data for three years from 2011 to 2013 shows an increasing trend in child marriages. The minister said, 222 cases of child marriage was reported in 2013, 169 in 2012, while 2011 had recorded 113 such marriages in different parts of the country. Patna: A Bihar court Thursday sentenced the head of an orphanage to 10 years in prison for sexual abuse of children, a government lawyer said. Hajipur Additional District and Sessions Judge B.K. Tripathi found Praduman Kumar guilty of sodomising and sexually abusing some destitute children at the shelter home being run by him, as well as under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act. Gurgaon: Six people, including a 22-year-old woman, were arrested here Tuesday for their involvement in a prostitution racket, police said.

Sumit, Amit and Gaurav from Hisar, Navneet from Jind and Abhishek from Gurgaon were arrested from a room in South City-2 area. All six are between the age group of 20-25 years.

The woman's name was not revealed.

"Someone informed police about the six people. Police raided the area and arrested them from a house near Park Hospital," police spokesperson Subhash Boken told IANS.

A case has been registered under various sections of the Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act.

Kozhikode: Two students at a private school were arrested today for allegedly molesting a four-and-a-half-year-old girl studying in LKG class in the same institution at Parakkadavu near Nadapuram in the district. Muzaffarnagar: An unidentified woman's half-naked body was found in a sugarcane field at Rampur Kheri village in neighbouring Shamli district, police said today. Police suspect that the woman, appearing to be in her late 20s, was raped before being strangled to death. Thane: Police have busted a flesh trade racket at Vasai in Thane district after a 16-year-old school girl blew the lid off, a senior officer said today.

The accused, including two women, befriended the minor in April under the pretext of offering her professional training to work in a doctor's clinic, Inspector S H Patil of Nalla Sopara police station said yesterday.

 

The duo, however, took the victim to the house of one of the women and apparently detained her there for over last three months during which they forced her into prostitution, he said.

The girl somehow managed to escape from the house and approached police. Based on the complaint filed by her, police registered a case against ten persons under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012 and under provisions of the Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act (PITA).

No arrest is made in the case so far.
