Based on the instructions of Amit Mohan Prasad, the newly appointed CEO of Noida Authority, the body has uploaded a list of 91 defaulting housing project groups on their official website. The defaulters haven’t cleared dues worth Rs 9,993 crore. After becoming the CEO, Prasad had promised to make the name of defaulters public, and has fulfilled this promise in less than two months of his joining. This move came as a huge relief for the home buyers since past governments and CEOs had not been paying any heed to their repeated pleas. In fact, most claimed that previous CEOs maintained a pro-developer stance. Noida Authority issues a completion certificate to developers only after they clear all dues. However, many developers have cheated Noida Authority and home buyers and allowed the latter to stay in societies that did not have completion certificates. SP's policy to settle Noida builder-buyer issues is back 17.5.2017 DNA: Top News
The Uttar Pradesh government has adopted the Akhilesh Yadav-led government's policy to settle builders-buyers issues in Noida and Greater Noida. In 2016, the Akhilesh-led government had come up with a project settlement policy (PSP) to address multiple issues regarding the delayed realty projects in the areas. Afterwards, owners of 60 housing projects in Noida and Greater Noida had applied for settlement. According to the PSP, if a builder is yet to begin construction, then he can quit the project. If the construction has been halted mid-way, an interested co-developer can be introduced to bail out the project. There were some other provisions as well. After the change in regime, the two authorities started distancing from the PSP, affecting thousands of homebuyers. CEO of the twin authorities, Amit Mohan Prasad, has now confirmed that they will cancel a sick realty project and allot the same to another builder.
