Following the collapse of two 6-storeyed buildings in Shahberi area, the residents of high rises in Noida and Greater Noida are demanding the structure audit from the state government. The residents want the authorities to audit the quality of construction material used in the buildings, the strengths of the building columns, beams, pillars, iron bars and plaster, sewage discharge systems, water pipeline system, electrical cabin and wiring system, lifts and podiums. After being rebuked by the Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Arun Chaturvedi, the Public Health and Engineering Department (PHED) has now started an attempt to work on its mistake. A new estimate of laying drinking water pipeline for Venkateswara Colony, Sodala has been prepared. PHED will lay pipeline in the whole area of the colony at a cost of Rs 16 lakhs. PHED had laid the pipeline in “U” shape, which services only 25 per cent of the colony’s houses, due to the influence of the RAS officer and special assistant and minister of state Rajkumar Rinwa. The pipeline had been laid outside RAS officer’s house. Water crisis in West Delhi's Trilok Puri; residents suffer 1.7.2018 DNA: Mumbai
The residents of Trilok Puri in West Delhi have been facing water crisis for the last two months, but the issue has not been solved despite several complaints.
