COVID-19 : More than 200 under treatment in MP 1.6.2020 Central Chronicle

With 31 more COVID-19-infected people being detected in Madhya Pradesh on Sunday, the number of such sufferers mounted to 215 – including fatalities – even as two fresh deaths were reported from the state’s commercial capital Indore thereby raising the toll to 13.

It was officially learnt that 23 patients were added to the list in this city where 40 persons are now undergoing treatment. Seven more came to light in Indore and one in Khargone.

New Delhi,  The India International Film Academy awards, scheduled to be held in March at Indore, has been postponed, due to the growing threat of Coronavirus in the country. 'With due regards to the growing concerns around the spread of Coronavirus and keeping the health and safety of IIFA fans and the general community at large, it has been decided, after consulting the Madhya Pradesh government, the IIFA management and stakeholders from the film industry, to postpone to a late date, the much-awaited IIFA weekend and award celebrations, which were originally scheduled in the end of March 2020,' a statement from IIFA said. 'IIFA is fully committed to ensure the safety of citizens and legions of it's fans, who travel from across the globe to attend and experience the magic of IIFA. A fresh date and plan for hosting the coveted ceremony in Madhya Pradesh will be announced at the earliest,' it added.
