The Lok Sabha proceedings were disrupted by the Opposition soon after the suspension of six young Congress MPs, a day earlier, for five days. When the House reassembled after the oath-taking ceremony of new President Ram Nath Kovind in the afternoon, the Opposition again pleaded Speaker Sumitra Mahajan to revoke suspension. In the morning, she quickly adjourned the House citing the new President's swearing-in an hour later when Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge insisted to speak on his adjournment motion during the question hour. But a ruckus was stored for the afternoon when the House resumed and Congress MP Jyotiraditya Scindia rose to speak.
