Cbi will seek mha nod to name ib men (Cached) 21.2.2014 Asian Age: India

Taking lessons from its recent experience in the Ishrat Jahan alleged fake encounter case, the CBI has now decided to seek prior sanction against two officials of the Intelligence Bureau (IB) from the ministry of home affairs (MHA) before chargesheeting them in the Sadiq Jamal Mehtar encounter case.
In the Ishrat Jahan case, the CBI named four IB officials, including a former special director, in its supplementary chargesheet without taking sanction from the MHA which was later objected by Attorney-General G.E. Vahanvati.
Sources in the agency said, “The CBI, which has completed its probe into the conspiracy that led to the encounter of Sadiq in 2003, will certainly seek sanction against the suspected IB officials before naming them in its supplementary chargesheet”.
