A representation from Jaipur met the Union home minister Rajnath Singh in Delhi on Tuesday demanding a Central Bureau Of Investigation (CBI) probe into the encounter of gangster Anandpal Singh by the Rajasthan Police. Led by the gangster’s counsel, AP Singh, a representation from the Akhil Bhartiya Kshatriya Mahasabha and a a team of lawyers met Rajnath Singh this morning. “We told him of our representations to the Rajasthan governor, Chief Justice of Rajasthan HC and state home minister regarding Anandpal’s wish to surrender,” said AP Singh. “After the meeting, he assured us that feedback would be sought and that he shall revert to us,” Singh added. The Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) on Tuesday filed a final report in connection of Faraskhana blast case to Additional session judge in Pune. The ATS in its report stated all the five accused related to the case are dead. Three died during Bhopal jailbreak and two others were killed in an encounter in Telangana in 2015. The Pune court sanctioned the final report filed by Maharashtra ATS in this case on June 23. The Faraskhana blast took place in the parking area of the Faraskhana police station in July 2014, when a low-intensity improvised explosive device (IED), planted on a motorcycle, gone off. Five people were injured in the blast. It was later revealed that the motorcycle, which belonged to a constable with Satara Police, was stolen from the premises of a court in June that year. Senior IPS officer Rajnish Rai, who has lodged a complaint about an alleged fake encounter in Assam, may be examined by Union Home Ministry officials, who have been asked to carry out an internal probe into the matter. Official sources today said that all circumstances and merit of his complaint are being looked into and the officer may be quizzed. In case, the complaint is found to be motivated or false, then a counter case can also be registered against those involved in it, they said. Rai, Inspector General of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), had sent a report to the paramilitary forces headquarters and others claiming that two men had been killed in the alleged staged encounter in March in Assams Chirang district. Following the complaint, the officer, who was then in charge of the Northeast sector of the force, has been transferred to Chittoor in Andhra Pradesh. A CRPF Inspector General, whose "discreet" inquiry into an encounter in Assam triggered a controversy, has been transferred from his posting in the northeast.

Rajnish Rai, a 1992-batch IPS officer of the Gujarat cadre, had submitted a report to the CRPF claiming that two persons, who were claimed to be NDFB rebels, were killed in a fake encounter in Simlaguri area of Chirang district on March 30.

The operation was carried out by a joint team of the Assam Police, army, CRPF and its jungle warfare unit CoBRA and the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB).

Rai has now been asked to join the Counter Insurgency and Anti Terrorism (CIAT) School of the CRPF at Chittoor in Andhra Pradesh.
