In a bid to ensure that officials report to work and stay at their desks for the entire course of the day, the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has proposed to introduce an Aadhaar-linked biometric attendance system for its officials. If all goes to plan, people will be able to access information regarding the attendance of BBMP officials, Bangalore Mirror reported. This move comes in the wake of the Administrative Standing Committee Chairman accusing BBMP officials of working just 3 to 4 hours a day. CR Lakshminarayana, Chairman, Administration and Reforms Committee of the BBMP recently revealed to the Bengaluru-based daily that officials had not been regular to the office and he had received several complaints from the public about officials not being accessible during office hours.  Earlier,  it was announced that junior colleges in Maharashtra offering science stream will have to install biometric machine to mark the attendance of the students, according to a Government Resolution (GR) ...
