TURA, Oct 12: The North Garo Hills (NGH) District Child Protection Officer (DCPO) has sought an inquiry report into the case of 3 students being expelled from the Depa Secondary School near Dainadubi in the district. The DCPO has sought the inquiry to be done by the District School Education Officer (DSEO) and provided a time of 5 days for filing of the report.
The order seeking an inquiry from the DSEO comes in the wake of a complaint by the Achik Indigenous Justice Initiative Forum (AIJIF) who lodged a complaint with the DCPO on the violation of RTE by the school authorities. The NGO had submitted the complaint 2 days ago following which the DCPO paid a visit to the school.

TURA, Oct 10: In an absolute shocker, 3 children were expelled from a school in North Garo Hills, two months ago, leading the Achik Indigenous Justice Initiative Forum (AIJIF) to write to the DCPO, NGH asking for strict action against those responsible for the transgression.
The incident took place in the month of August at the Depa Secondary School near Sarangma in North Garo Hills. Two of the girls were studying in Class 8 while one was from Class 9.
