Left alliance wins 40 seats in Nepal polls 9.12.2017 DNA: Money
Nepal's Left alliance is leading in parliamentary polls, winning 40 of the 49 seats for which results were declared today while the ruling Nepali Congress got 6 seats in the historic elections that many hope will bring the much-needed political stability to the country. According to results released by Nepal's Election Commission, the Communist Party of Nepal-Unified Marxist- Leninist (CPN-UML) has won 28 seats while its alliance partner CPN Maoist-Centre has bagged 12 seats. A historic moment occurred on Tuesday when three Armoured Regiments of the Indian Army at the Suratgarh Military Station were presented with the President’s Standards. Chief of Army Staff, General Bipin Rawat presented the standards to the 87 Armoured Regiment, 41 Armoured Regiment, and 10 Armoured Regiment, after a magnificent and immaculate mounted parade. Presented on the occasion were Lieutenant General Cherish Mathson, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Sapta Shakti Command, Lieutenant General PC Thimmaya, General Officer Commanding, Chetak Corps and a number of senior military officers and civilian dignitaries. The 41 Armoured Regiment was raised on 1st July 1980 Ahmednagar with all India class composition and was initially equipped with Vijayanta tanks.
