NITI Aayog celebrates ATL Community Day 15.12.2017 Govt of india: PIB
Atal Innovation Mission under the aegis of NITI Aayog, celebrated the Community Drive Initiative as part of ATL Community Day today. As a part of the unique initiative, 25 young mentors interacted with over 200 children not enrolled in the formal education system through brief sessions conducted at four locations in New Delhi. The idea is to extend innovation to children in the community so they can become problem solvers.

A Shiv Sena MLA announced that he is a loan waiver beneficiary in what is a shock to the state government. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday warned private schools of the "strongest action" for allegedly harassing parents by arbitrarily increasing fees to comply with the recommendations of the Seventh Pay Commission. The warning came after reports suggested that private schools substantially increased their fees to comply with the seventh central pay commission (CPC) recommendations. In October, the Delhi government had allowed recognised unaided private schools on Delhi Development Authority (DDA) land to increase their fees by 15 per cent as an "interim" measure to comply with the CPC recommendations, which include a nearly 25 per cent increase in salaries of school teachers. "Parents from all over Delhi have met me in last few days wi complaints that schools r demanding v high fee including arrears to implement 7th Pay Commission. This must stop. Claiming "higher discrepancies" between resources available and the learning outcomes, the Praja foundation report titled 'State of Public (School) Education in Delhi- 2017' on Thursday said that "there is no constraint on available resources". "In terms of the infrastructure available, teacher quality and budget allocation, there is no constraint on available resources. The corporation is faring well on the student-teacher ratio, the quality of teachers is above average and the budget estimate has been set by the state government at Rs 49,740 per child," the report said. According to Right to Education (RTE) rules, primary schools must have a student-teacher ratio of 30. The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) schools, on the contrary, had a much higher student-teacher ratio from 2014-15 to 2016-17. The Federation of Resident Doctors Association (FORDA) on Tuesday has condemned the government’s decision to cancel the license of Max hospital in Shalimar Bagh. The doctors’ body has issued a statement opposing the government’s move.  “We condemned such a haphazard and irresponsible action of the government. Without going into the details of the matter they have straightaway cancelled the license of the hospital, just to please the citizen. By doing this they are just not setting up a wrong example but also misleading the society against a noble profession,” said Dr Vivek Chouksey, president, FORDA.  The Delhi government on Friday has cancelled the license of the hospital in a case of gross medical negligence. As per the instructions, the hospital can now not admit any new patients nor can operate the Out Patient Department (OPD).
