The Chief Minister Mr.Kamal Nath Cabinet has given more incentives to farmers by taking a decision to give Rs.160 per quintal more on wheat over and above the Central Government minimum support procurement price. The last Government of Chief Minister Mr.Shivraj Singh Chouhan also paid Rs.100 per quintal more on wheat minimum support price. But his gesture created a serious difficulty for his Government. The farmers of neighbouring states the Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra brought their wheat stock to Madhya Pradesh as in their states there was no payment of bonus. The election year has proved boon to farmers of the Madhya Pradesh. The Chief Minister Mr Shivraj Singh Chouhan Government has announced that this year the cooperative banks will disfurse loan or more than Rs. 16,000 crores at the zero interest rate. By May last moth 1700 crores of rupees loan given to the farmers. It is short term crop loan scheme. Last year under this scheme about Rs. 13,000 crores rupees were given the farmers. It was 760 crore rupees more than the amount of 2015. By 31st March this year more than 57 lakh farmers were given Kisan Credit Cards. Although like other states Kisan loan waiver scheme was not adopted in the state but they were given much more financial benefits by Bhawanter and bonus of food procurements.

The Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mr Shivaraj Singh Chouhan by his efforts secured minimum support price to the farmers for their channa, masoor and mustard crops.
