To frisk women commuters in total privacy, Delhi Metro stations will soon get 200 new security cabins. The blue-coloured frisking booths, being procured by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), are closed from three sides to ensure privacy. In the first phase, these booths will be installed in the Metro stations on the Blue Line (Dwarka Sector-21 to Vaishali/Noida City Centre) and subsequently, they will placed in all other stations on the Metro network in the National Capital Region. The move is an attempt to finetune the security parameters on the transportation system. “The new infrastructure is part of our enhanced measures to make Metro commuters feel comfortable and secure. Apart from these new booths, we have also introduced new mechanisms to finetune the Delhi Metro security services,” CISF chief Arvind Ranjan said. A dozen such booths are already in use.
