A notorious criminal threatened and assaulted a resident of Malikpur because his ego was hurt after he was snubbed by the victim when he tried to extort money from him. He has been arrested. Twenty-three-year-old Nakul, who had previously been involved in cases of murder and attempted murder, threw stones at the house of the complainant and threatened him on gunpoint after breaking the CCTV cameras installed within his house. On May 22, the Jafar Pur Kalan police received a report regarding an armed mob threatening some residents in the Malikpur village. The accused had come to the house of the complainant and threatened and assaulted him.   The complainant got a recorded statement and alleged that Nakul was accompanied by his brother and four other unknown assailants who threatened to eliminate the family of the victim. This year, the annual pilgrimage to the cave shrine will start on Jyestha Purnima which falls on June 28. The 60-day pilgrimage will conclude on Shravan Purnima (Raksha Bandhan) i.e. August 26.
