We are targeted for being different: Atishi Marlena, adviser to deputy CM 24.2.2018 DNA: Mumbai
What exactly happened that night? The CM had called a meeting with the Chief Secretary to discuss delays in various schemes focusing on distribution of ration and it's doorstep of delivery . MLAs were present and there was a heated argument. But there was no violence. The CCTV footage outside the CM office saw CS leaving the CM residence in just 8 minutes. What could have possibly happened in just those eight minutes? It is impossible to believe the allegations that are being levelled. Since AAP came to power, there has been a power tussle... We are all working for the people of Delhi. We are aggressive. But the pressure we put on officers is simply to get work done. We have never put forward any illegitimate demands to officers. Cite one example, if anyone can. We don't believe in paperwork, we believe in what we see. Previous governments never used to fix any responsibility but we are doing that. We are holding people accountable for their work and this is why the situation in Delhi has improved. Many ...

Two AAP MLAs have already been arrested for Monday night's incident in Kejriwal's presence that has sparked a revolt by the entire bureaucracy. A team of 15 officers led by Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Harender Singh entered the house in North Delhi's Civil Lines to examine the scene of assault that has been confirmed by Kejriwal's adviser, VK Jain. Kejriwal was present at the house for an hour during the police operation, but later ...

How will cameras on buses help women? 23.2.2018 Deccan Herald - Supplements
Karnataka budget has made an allocation for the BMTC to instal CCTV cameras in 1,000 buses. Reservations about being monitored are being expressed, besides hope that the cameras might actually help the authorities keep an eye on unruly men and rude conductors. Keerthana Nagabhushan, HR executive and resident of Vidyaranapura, is optimistic the cameras will help women whose reserved seats are taken up by men. "In the evenings, many men are drunk and misbehave with women. If these CCTV cameras cover all nooks and corners of the bus, they will make an impact," she says. Not an impressive plan A passengers association is sceptical too. Lekha Adavi, member of Bengaluru Bus Prayanikara Vedike, says, "CCTV cameras are not going to do help unless a complaint is filed and an FIR registered." Most people are not aware that the BMTC has a toll-free number for complaints, including those of sexual harassment, she observes. "The number should be publicised and maintained properly," she says. Numbers on board Prerana ...
