Nagawara-Thanisandra Metro route to KIA final? 25.4.2017 deccanherald.com
The chances of Namma Metro line from Nagawara to Kempegowda International airport via Thanisandra are high. Earlier, Rail India Technical and Economic Service (Rites) had proposed nine routes for Metro-airport connectivity and with regard to this, BRMCL had published the details on its website and called for people's opinions. Around 1,300 people had responded and most of them favoured extension of Gottigere to Nagawara Metro line till the airport. A meeting was held between Bengaluru Development Minister K J George and Byatarayanapura MLA and minister Krishna Byre Gowda on Tuesday. An official, who attended the meeting, said: "The ministers have shown interest in finalising the airport connectivity through the route passing by Nagawara, Thanisandra and Rashtrotthana Vidya Kendra. In an effort to pacify 'rebel' star and Congress MLA M H Ambareesh, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Wednesday met him at his residence and held talks for over two hours.

Sources in the Congress said Siddaramaiah accompanied by Ministers M B Patil and K J George had dinner with Ambareesh. Siddaramaiah is learnt to have tried to convince Ambareesh not to quit the party.

Ambareesh, who is a prominent Vokkaliga leader from Mandya district, had raised a banner of revolt against the chief minister after he was removed from the Cabinet last year. He was also planning to quit as Congress MLA. Recently, he had dropped hints of quitting.

Bengaluru Development Minister K J George pulled up engineers working on the Okalipuram eight-lane corridor on Monday for delaying the project.

The minister and Mayor G Padmavathi inspected various infrastructure projects in the city. At Okalipuram eight-lane corridor, Gandhinagar MLA Dinesh Gundu Rao and Rajajinagar MLA S Suresh Kumar complained that the contractor was delaying the work.

The minister warned the contractor and the officers to speed up the work. The delay in the four grade separators along Chord Road drew the minister's ire.

Bengaluru Development Minister K J George on Thursday reviewed civic works taken up at Sagayapuram, Muneshwara Block and Devarajeevanahalli. He instructed BBMP and BWSSB officials to speed up works related to road repair, underground drainage, desilting of stormwater drains and clearing garbage at Muneshwara Block. The city won't face any water crisis till June 2017, according to NManjunath Prasad, the commissioner of Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike. "The Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) officials have informed that there is enough drinking water to meet city's requirement till June 15. The city needs 9.84 tmc feet of water while the availability is 15.88 tmc feet," Prasad said here on Wednesday. He was speaking to reporters after a meeting with city MLAs and several ministers at Vidhana Soudha.
