MANREGA Audit 29.1.2020 Central Chronicle
The Madhya Pradesh Government has decided that the rural audit of all MANREGA will be carried out by the three women team of self help group of that village where works under MANREGA are carried out. The e-women team will submit their audit report to the village panchayat and in its meeting it will be discussed. In such meeting an official as representative of the collector will attend it. In case there are charge against some persons in relation to execution of works and funds that person will be given an opportunity at public hearing in the presence of Chief Executive Officers of the District Panchayat. The MANREGA is hailed as biggest employment providing scheme of the world. But it being of rural areas some malpractices like false job card, work by machine and contractors and less payment are also there. But with this social audit thing can be set right in MANREGA works.

Saras Mela pulls crowds 29.1.2020 Central Chronicle
Chronicle Reporter, Bhopal This Bhopal Haat is embedded with Regional Saras Mela wherein shopaholics have an opportunity to explore new trend and new varieties of dress materials this festive season. This annual mela is organised by State Panchayat and Rural Development Department being held from Friday and since the first day is receiving great response. There is an exquisite collection of dress materials, jewellery, leather, food items, terracotta and much more. The self-employed artisans have participated in the mela. It is to be noted that usually Saras Mela is organised each year, to promote the self- employed artisans. More than 35 Self Help Groups (SHGs) from across the country have participated in the regional saras mela. SHGs artisans from different parts of the country have arrived in the mela to display and sale their products. Moreover, these artisans earn the profit of sale directly from the customers.

The Madhya Pradesh Government decision of not absorbing the Anganwadi staff in regular service as government class three and class four employee is an act of gross injustice to them and their outright exploitation. There are rendering great social service in education health, mid-day meals, self help group at the grass root level of vital importance. They are actually doing the government job than to the government is denying them the basic facilities of regular pay scales dearness allowances provident fund pension, transfer, medical benefits etc. There are being paid honorarium of Rs. 5000 per month to Anganwadi workers and 2500 to helpers there. The State Government must help them by absorbing as permanent government employees with all the facilities. For all practical purposes their deserve it. What a contrast the Modi Government has announced its intention of providing minimum salary of Rs. 18,000 to the government staff but Anganwadi staff being paid megre amount Rs. 5000 and Rs. 2500. The pellet feed plant inaugurated today has a production capacity of 400 tonne pellets daily. This plant will purchase 36 thousand tone corn and 18 thousand tonne soyabean khali per year.
