A video, which shows a man tying a cloth over a damaged railway track to ‘fix’ it has garnered a lot of criticism on social media, with people expressing anger at the alleged high-handedness of the authorities. However, the railways put out a clarification as soon as they saw the video. The video, which comes from Mumbai that has been victim of torrential rains since Sunday, highlights how a train passes over the damaged track on the Harbour Line between Govandi and Mankhurd on the outskirts of Navi Mumbai. The damage was reported between Mumbai's suburban Govandi and Mankhurd stations on the Harbour Line around 6:30 pm yesterday, when rain had crippled the city's train traffic. The track was repaired within half an hour, but the video that emerged online provoked shock and anger. Disappointed with no response from the state government after multiple attempts, the Federation of Academic Association has knocked the doors of Gujarat high court seeking action against school teachers who take private tuitions. The Federation has various associations from Mehsana, Vadodara, Surat, Bhavnagar, Rajkot, etc as part of it. A Public Interest Litigation (PIL) has been filed by Hemang Raval, member of the federation through advocate Suraj Shukla. The case is yet to be listed on board. Raval, through his petition, has stated that his association has been drawing the state governments attention for many years now but there has been no response. SHILLONG, July 06: The Central government along with the state government of Meghalaya have been directed by the Meghalaya High court to show cause on the status of over Rs. 2 crores which was unspent during in the construction of National Highway 44E.
This directive from the court came on Friday after a practicing lawyer of the Court, Arnold G Momin had filed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) in which he had opined that there are financial irregularities in the construction of this National Highway.
