Don't risk lives of your children by voting for BJP: Kejriwal 22.4.2017 deccanherald.com
Do not vote for the BJP and put the lives of your children "at stake", Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today said, in a last-ditch effort to shore up the AAPs prospects in the municipal polls. Kejriwal had made similar remarks yesterday as well. But this time around, the BJP approached the police saying his appeal, through a Facebook live session, amounted to a violation of the Model Code of Conduct. Seeking the audience, even of "die-hard supporters of the BJP and the RSS", the AAP chief listed the reasons to not vote the BJP to power: "children may contract dengue or chikungunya", "you will be responsible for their pain", "I will make their treatment free". Asked to react over the adverse reception of the remarks, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia seconded Kejriwal and said the BJPs response was understandable as it was "rattled" by it. "This is reality. If we choose a party that spreads garbage, then we will have to suffer from diseases and its consequences," he said. Kejriwal said that the ...

Delhi BJP files police complaint against Kejriwal over Facebook remark 22.4.2017
New Delhi: On the eve of MCD polls, the Delhi BJP Saturday filed a police complaint against Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal over his comments that voting for BJP would put the lives of the city's children at risk. In the complaint, the party alleged that Kejriwal has "violated the Model Code of Conduct by posting offending election material on his Facebook wall" and "campaigning beyond the prescribed time through his social media handles". The complaint has been filed on the direction of Delhi BJP president Manoj Tiwari at the North Avenue police station. The Delhi BJP also demanded that Kejriwal's Facebook account should be blocked. On Friday, Kejriwal had said that the people of Delhi would risk their children's lives if they voted for the BJP in the MCD polls, during a Facebook Live event. "If you vote for the BJP and if your child falls prey to chikungunya or dengue, you are responsible for it. I can offer free treatment to your child in (the Delhi government) hospitals, but what led to him or her to ...

MCD poll campaign: Parties make one last bid for victory 22.4.2017 DNA: Wide Angle
The last day of the MCD polls campaign on Friday had the city buzzing with party leaders addressing people in every nook and corner through loudspeakers attached to electric rickshaws, cars, and trucks. Every neighbourhood, streets and public places were strewn with pamphlets and posters of the candidates in the fray. Targeting the BJP, AAP leader and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal called it a party of 'dengue and chikungunya'. "In future, if your child suffers from dengue, you will be responsible for it because you voted for the BJP," the Delhi CM said. Reacting to Kejriwal's remark, BJP national spokesperson Nalin Kohli said: "Kejriwal is now giving dengue threats to Delhiites because he knows the people of Delhi are against him. If he has any moral fibre, he will resign." Kejriwal also alleged that both the BJP and the Congress were "sabotaging essential services" to create dissatisfaction against the AAP government. "Workers of the BJP and the Congress are stealing oil from transformers to ...
