IIT-Hyderabad, Osmania University up 1 spot in QS india rankings 23.10.2019

Hyderabad: The University of Hyderabad dropped one spot in the QS India rankings, 2020, released on Tuesday and now stands eighth. The Indian Institute of Technology-Hyderabad (IIT-H) and Osmania University (OU) both rose a spot in the rankings. IIT-H is now in the 15th position and OU at 33. IIT-Bombay tops the list, followed by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, and IIT-Delhi.

Speaking to this newspaper, OU registrar Gopal Reddy attributed the achievement to improvement in research facilities with more centres.

“We have secured NAAC A+ grade and OU is also going ahead with automation in governance.”

UoH vice-chancellor, Prof Appa Rao Podile, said the rank reinforced the stature of the university as a premier institution for which it was awarded the Institution of Eminence status.

“It entails intensive work ahead to not only retain but improve our ranking.”

Urban Lens Film Festival 2019 concludes today 22.9.2019
Bengaluru: The Indian Institute for Human Settlements (IIHS) is hosting the 6th edition of the Urban Lens Film Festival that began on September 19 in the city. The film festival is held in association with the Goethe-Institut/ Max Mueller Bhavan in Bengaluru and with the India International Centre in New Delhi. The festival is also supported by Institut Français. While the films may be diverse in their genres, form and story-telling, the search to explore what the urban experience is what unites these films.
