BJP targets Rahul, sees Congress pattern in Tharoor's 'Hindu Pakistan' remark 11.1.2020 Central Chronicle
New Delhi, The BJP on Thursday stepped up attack against Congress party and its Lok Sabha MP Shashi Tharoor for the 'Hindu Pakistan' remark and said these observations are highly objectionable. "Mr Rahul Gandhi, such kinds of abuses against Indian democracy your leaders have been using is something which has become a constant feature of the Congress party," BJP spokesman Sambit Patra told reporters here. This statement and use of the phrase 'Hindu Pakistan' is deliberate and it makes an assault on Indian democracy, he said adding "the remarks also make assault on the Hindus". Mr Patra said while there is a general mood of satisfaction in the country that the Indian economy has surpassed France - as per the latest World Bank report - but the statement was an "insult" to compare the world's sixth largest economy with Pakistan. The World Bank has assessed and assailed the India’s Goods and Service Tax (GST) as most complicated format. The World Bank is its study report of 115 countries said India’s tax rate is second highest in the world. The Modi Government launched the GST on 1st July 2017 in five stab 0-5-12-18-28 percent taxation on Goods and Services in India. The World Bank mentioned that 49 countries have only one slab in its GST while 28, have 2 slab GST but five countries India, Pakistan, Italy, Laxemburg, and Ghana have 5 slab GST system. The economies of these five countries are unstable. Actually it was Congress led UPA Government that formulated GST scheme but at that time the BJP in Opposition opposed and it could not be implemented.
