Binny meets Anna on AAP issues 20.1.2014 Asian Age: Mumbai
Rebel MLA from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Vinod Kumar Binny on Sunday met noted Gandhian leader Anna Hazare at Ralegan Siddhi. Their meeting comes in the backdrop of Mr Binny’s public revolt against AAP party leader and the Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal over non-implementation of election assurances. Mr Binny, who came to meet Mr Hazare to update him about the happenings in the AAP, also announced that he would go on hunger strike from January 27 if the AAP government in New Delhi did not implement assurances published in the election manifesto by then. The meeting started at 10 am and lasted for about 45 minutes. “He already knows many things but I informed Annaji about the truth. In a marathon meeting that lasted for nearly 10 hours, the management council of the University of Mumbai decided to revoke its earlier decision of suspending Prof. Neeraj Hatekar. According to a press statement released by the University at 2.43 am soon after the meeting ended on Sunday, the council in the larger interest of the student community and the institution decided to revoke the suspension. The University was also keen to dispel the belief that Hatekar was suspended unjustly. However, a one-member committee will be constituted to inquire into the actions of the professor.
