Swimmers allege benami transaction in Crinoline swimming pool 20.9.2018 Meghalaya Times

SHILLONG, Sep 20: Alleging that there has been a benami transaction that has been entered into in the setting up of a cafeteria in Crinoline Swimming poll, a group of swimmers has demanded that the state government initiates a inquiry into the matter.
“We demand the Sports & Youth Affairs minister Banteidor Lyngdoh to institute an inquiry and take necessary action on the matter,” one of the local swimmers, Shemphang Lyngdoh said during a press conference held here on Thursday.
According to him, the group had earlier submitted a complaint on March this year, but till date there was no sign of action taken on the part of the government.

TURA, Sep 04: The Garo Hills State Movement Committee (GHSMC) held its general executive meeting on September 1 at Rongram Community Hall whereby it made a few resolutions to continue its demand for a separate Garoland state.
The Committee first removed the ‘H’ from its name becoming now the Garoland State Movement Committee instead of its earlier name.
“We had a threadbare discussion on the matter and decided unanimously to rename the movement as GSMC adding Garoland and omitting the word ‘Hills’,” said chairman of GSMC, Nikman Marak.
