Is AAP behind sting rage against men in uniform? 21.9.2014 deccanherald.com
If someone asks you for a bribe in a public office, don't refuse. Instead, do a 'setting'," the Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal had said in his swearing-in speech at Ramlila Maidan in December last year, promising corruption-free rule in Delhi. Since that speech, the former chief minister gave at least a dozen calls to sting the corrupt. His party claims that corruption had come down during their 49-day term in the city. Is there any proof of it? Can there be any tangible proof?During the AAP period, there were people running high on adrenalin. They were looking out for a shootout with a band of bribe-takers, and the AAP was willing to broadcast them. While posting a video shot by a "vigilante near Lal Quila", the party on its official Facebook page had said, "Here is another such video. Not only does the video clearly shows Delhi police's inhuman behaviour but also the urban legend of police extorting money is caught on camera." The video released on January 23 - which is two day after the ...

Boutique owner who stung some cops hard 21.9.2014 deccanherald.com
Naresh Kumar's family has been running a boutique in the main market of central Delhi's Ranjeet Nagar for over two decades. For the survival of his business, the 43-year-old has been paying bribes to local policemen for years. The policemen used to claim that the shop was illegal and it would be demolished if the bribe was not paid on a monthly basis. Naresh was helpless as a court order was also issued last year to seal several shops in the market, which also included his shop. But in the hope of getting justice someday, he began to record his conversations with the policemen last year. And he saw a ray of hope last month on noticing an advertisement issued by the Delhi Police in a Hindi newspaper. Now, his complaint has lead to the suspension of a head constable and three constables. The advertisement claimed that Delhi Police had launched an anti-corruption helpline where one can send audio or video clips if any police officer seeks bribe or harasses a person. It encouraged people to do sting ...

I WALKED BECAUSE... 21.9.2014 Telegraph: Calcutta
I started protesting what had happened in JU with my remarks on Facebook but what followed soon after was a lot of messages from people who felt I was a Left sympathiser. I should start by saying that I understand nothing of politics. I have zero knowledge of how things work within a political agenda.

Is CBI chief pursuing vendetta against journo? 20.9.2014 DNA: Top News
Suresh Tripathi, the editor of "Railway Samachar", has been summoned to Delhi by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday. It's the third time in six months that he has been called by the agency in connection with cases of alleged corruption in the railways. The previous two occasions were harrowing experiences and this time the 55-year-old journalist is equally distressed. "I tried requesting the investigating officer, Arunendra Kumar, to push the date since there is so much to do, but he refused," says Tripathi, who lives in Kalyan. As a result he had to complete the work on the edition of Railway Samachar earlier than scheduled. What has the journalist done? Tripathi launched the fortnightly newspaper in May 1997. Railway Samachar has tried to focus on wrongdoings in the railways. "My newspaper has always tried to highlight corruption in the railways. We ran a series of articles on the zone-wise collections of the RPF," he says. "After two reports were published we received warnings to ...
