You and Your Family Are Guinea Pigs for the Chemical Corporations

David Rosner and Gerald Markowitz
A hidden epidemic is poisoning America. The toxins are in the air we breathe and the water we drink, in the walls of our homes and the furniture within them. We can’t escape it in our cars. It’s in cities and suburbs. It afflicts rich and poor, young and old. And there’s a reason why you’ve never read about it in the newspaper or seen a report on the nightly news: it has no name -- and no antidote. read more |

Volunteers staff a free store where residents can access free food, clothing, and information about the neighborhood's environmental problems. (Photo by Tar Sands Blockade) The playground in Manchester, a neighborhood on Houston"s east side, is empty much of the time. Children who play for too long here often start to cough. Assimilating Canadians into the wisdom of Indigenous ancestors

rabble.ca - News for the rest of us |
| Tuesday, April 23, 2013
If we're going to stand with our Indigenous neighbors, we'll have to start asking questions about whose land we’re standing on.
This year, the Idle No More movement called for Earth Day rallies to focus attention on the links between Indigenous issues and the environmental movement.
Events leading up to Earth Day included an impressive 'Nation2Nation' (N2N) dialogue between Haudenosaunee and Anishnawbeg leaders like Ellen Gabriel and Leanne Simpson and Canadian activist Naomi Klein in Toronto. (Watch videos of this event here and here .)
