SHILLONG, Sep 26: Leader of the opposition Dr Mukul Sangma on Wednesday tagged the NPP led MDA government as a failed government while accusing it of not keeping its promises after six months in governance and failing to handle the Swepers’ Colony issue which spiraled into an unrest costing the state the tag of a favorable tourist destination.
Speaking to reporters after the fourth day of the autumn session of the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly session, Dr. Sangma said that the MDA coalition partners had made tall promises before the general assembly elections, one which includes the lifting of the NGT ban on coal mining within six months in power. In this regard, Dr. Sangma said that the MDA has not been able to do so.
