Cargo plane makes emergency landing in Mumbai 8.3.2018 deccanherald.com

A cargo plane of the United States made an emergency landing at the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport in Mumbai following hydraulic failure.

UPS Airlines flight no 015 was returning from Bangkok when it had to opt for emergency landing.

"Full emergency was declared for UPS 015 from Bangkok due to hydraulic failure," a spokesperson of the Mumbai International Airport Ltd said.

According to the spokesperson, it was a Boeing-737. The aircraft was reported to have blocked the main runway for a short period before being removed.

A ground handling equipment hit an aircraft of the Jet Airways at the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport on Wednesday.

The Jet Airways plane was stationed in the parking bay when the incident took place.

The incident affected the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Jet Lite flight S2-4329 Boeing 737 aircraft.

The aircraft has been grounded.

The 210-metre-high statue of the Maratha warrior king Shivaji has moved closer to reality with the state government finally awarding the contract to build the much-delayed memorial in the Arabian Sea to engineering major Larsen & Toubro (L&T). The Devendra Fadnavis government today gave the letter of acceptance to the city-based engineering major that will build the project at a cost Rs 2,500 crore on an engineering, procurement and construction model.
