SHILLONG, April 27: Reacting to the recent comments made by Assam BJP Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma, Meghalaya urban Affairs Minister, Ronnie V Lyngdoh has pointed out that the people of Meghalaya would not like being under the dominion of Assam again.
Lyngdoh was reacting to Sarma’s recent comment wherein the latter had said the BJP will form the next government in Meghalaya. “A lot of people (in the late 60s upto early 70s) have fought to be free from Assamese domination to have our own statehood. Now why would we want to be under the Assamese domination again,” Lyngdoh said in this regard.
