World's wondrous ways... 30.12.2017 Deccan Herald - Supplements
Shivarajkumar, Actor I love travelling. In spite of my hectic schedules, I did manage to travel a lot this year. I went to Muscat for a Kannada Rajyotsava function. From there, I went to Dubai. I also travelled to Bangkok, Scotland and Goa. I like all kinds of places for my holiday: both modern and ancient cities. But the most memorable vacation was to Scotland. I went with my wife Geetha, daughter Nidhi, and her friend Shreya. My daughter decided on this place. Scotland is such a beautiful country. We went to many places there including Edinburgh. We explored the entire city, actually. I especially remember the train ride from London to Scotland, which was absolutely spectacular. At one point, you can see the entire stretch of sea. I can never forget that sight. Scotland has many heritage buildings that are awe-inspiring. Even our hotel was beautiful. We also visited my wifes niece who is settled in Edinburgh. We explored the local culture and culinary scene, too. The weather was very cool, which also ...

Just to get a feel of artificial intelligence and data analytics technology, consider this: traffic police in Bengaluru have installed CCTV cameras at various busy junctions to capture and record traffic movement. Machine intelligence and data analytics technology make it possible to analyse the data electronically for these parameters on a real-time basis. The technology can be used to address issues in the field of transportation, compilation of census and survey data, healthcare, education, rural and urban development, governance among others. The centre will come up at the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) campus in Bengaluru ...

Most accidents happen during evening hours 7.9.2017 DNA: Popular News
The dusky evening is more dangerous than darker night in Rajasthan, when people use transport vehicles to commute. This striking fact was revealed in a report on ‘Road Accidents in India.’  The report highlights accidents’ causes, places, age group with most fatalities and what type of vehicles are more prone to meet with accidents. Apart from them, an analysis was also conducted mentioning time zones having accidents on roads in urban and rural part of the states including Rajasthan.  A general perception is set that hours of late night or wee hours are vulnerable for road accidents, as it is the time of drunk and driving and rush of vehicles on the highways. The report, though, rejects this perception clearly and reveals a ‘duskier’ tragic timing zone with higher risk of human lives in contrast. 24,072 road accidents have been reported in the largest state of the country across the year. Of them, the highest number of accidents at 4,539 occurred within three hours from 6 to 9pm. It is followed by a ...
