Passengers of the Ahmedabad-Puri Express had a narrow escape tonight when the coaches of the train travelled a few kilometres without the engine, which was detached for reversal at the Titlagarh station in Odisha, due to the non-application of the skid brakes, a railway official said. "All passengers are safe and no one was hurt when the coaches moved towards Kesinga (under Sambalpur railway division) after the engine was detached to be attached at the other end of the train," an East Coast Railway spokesperson here said. According to railway sources, the coaches started moving around 10 pm and had covered a distance of 10 kms without the engine before they were brought to a halt. Two drug peddlers arrested with Heroin in Reasi 6.3.2018 General News
Police arrested two drug peddlers and seized heroin from them in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir. The incident occurred last night when a police team stopped a car. The persons inside the car, identified sa Abid Malik and Ishwar Sharma, tried to flee but were caught, a police official said. Police recovered a small quantity of heroin in tin foils from the duo who have been arrested and a case registered against them, the official said.

9 people killed in cylinder blast at wedding function in Raj 17.2.2018 General News
Nine people, including three children and as many women, were killed and 18 others injured when a LPG cylinder exploded during a wedding ceremony in Beawar town of Rajasthan's Ajmer district, police said today. The explosion occurred last night when the wedding function was underway at a hotel, Ajmer District Collector Gaurav Goyal said, adding the explosion severely damaged the three-storey hotel. Bodies of nine people have been recovered while 18 others were injured, he said, adding rescue operation was on to trace the nine missing people. Two cars parked outside the hotel and the adjoining buildings were also damaged in the incident, police said. The collector said nearly 150 people are involved in the rescue operation, which is being carried out manually fearing that people are stuck under debris.
