With the capital’s annual butterfly month fast approaching, over 40 butterfly hotspots have already been created in Delhi-NCR over the past year. A 100 butterfly hotspots are expected to be completed by next year, which will see a butterfly ‘corridor’ come to fruition, said officials. The Bombay Natural History Society, the organiser of the butterfly month who are involved in creating butterfly hotspots, said that despite the pandemic, plantation has not stopped as it will allow host plants to grow faster during the monsoon, in turn allowing more butterflies to be attracted to these new hotspots.
