The official admission that he and his wife Nupur had been wronged finally reached them on Monday. The release orders reached Ghaziabad's Dasna jail at 4:30 pm. The dentist couple walked out 20 minutes later — four years and 20 days after they were convicted and jailed for life for killing their only child Aarushi and family help Hemraj Banjade in 2008. The Allahabad High Court had on Thursday debunked the CBI's investigation and said the "circumstantial evidences" were not adequate for a conviction beyond doubt. The Talwars held their bags while coming out, and had to pause when a battery of photojournalists captured their initial moments of freedom. Lok Sabha bypolls in UP: acid test for Yogi 16.10.2017 Deccan Herald - Panorama
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath may be in demand in the forthcoming assembly polls in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh but he himself faces an acid test in by-polls in the two Lok Sabha constituencies of Gorakhpur and Phulpur in his own state. The bypolls have become more challenging for Adityanath, especially due to the poor law and order situation in the state and reports of a possible grand alliance between the Samajwadi Party (SP), BSP and Congress. Both Gorakhpur and Phulpur seats are prestigious for the BJP as Adityanath himself represented Gorakhpur in Lok Sabha and deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya represented Phulpur before resigning after they became members of the UP legislative council. Although the dates for the bypolls have not yet been announced, both the BJP and the opposition parties have shifted gears and started preparations. As both the seats fall in the eastern UP region, the results of the two by-polls would also be an indicator of things to come in the bigger battle in ...

Rajesh Talwars brother said the dentist couple, who walked out of Dasna Jail in Ghaziabad today after four years behind bars, were in no position to speak to the media. "The pain of losing Aarushi can never go away and the grief over her loss, which was somewhere bottled up, will now come to the fore. They are not in a position to talk," he told reporters here. The couple were acquitted by the Allahabad High Court on October 12 after they were convicted in 2013 by a lower court for the murder of their daughter Aarushi and domestic help Hemraj. The police escorted the Talwars to Aarushis maternal grandparents house in Noidas Jalvayu Vihar. The Talwars lived in another flat -- where the double murder took place in 2008 -- in the same housing complex. While addressing the media in Noida, Dinesh Talwar hinted at media reports that linked Aarushi with Hemraj, and ...
