A 20-year-old hotel employee was bludgeoned to death by his uncle in Byatrayanapura on Tuesday. Sourabh was a resident of Cachar in Assam and was working with Hotel Imperial that operates round-the-clock at Satellite Bus Stand on Mysuru Road. The police believe that the suspect is his maternal uncle who is absconding after the incident. According to police, the murder was committed at around 10 am and came to light at 2.30 pm when his colleagues returned to the room after their morning shift. According to colleagues, Sourabh and his uncle worked in the night shift and they had come to their room at Haleguddadhahalli after work. The two shared their place of stay with other hotel employees who worked in different shifts. Sourabh's body was found by his friend who informed the police. There were liquor bottles at the scene which suggested that they had drinks before committing the crime, the police said. There were injuries on the victim's head and face. Senior IPS officer Rajnish Rai, who has lodged a complaint about an alleged fake encounter in Assam, may be examined by Union Home Ministry officials, who have been asked to carry out an internal probe into the matter. Official sources today said that all circumstances and merit of his complaint are being looked into and the officer may be quizzed. In case, the complaint is found to be motivated or false, then a counter case can also be registered against those involved in it, they said.
