Hundreds of buyers who had invested in different residential projects of the Amrapali Group, Supertech, Jaypee, and many others in Noida and Greater Noida staged a protest outside the BJP office at Ashoka Road in New Delhi on Saturday. Shouting slogans the buyers demanded answers from the government as to how and when they would get their houses. Police detained the protesters for three hours. If a home buyer cancelled his deal or failed to pay the remaining amount, citing demonetization as an excuse, then he may not get a refund from the developer, as the Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority (MahaRERA) has said the regulatory body does not have such a provision for refund claim. A home buyer, Shatrunjay Singh, approached MahaRERA, seeking a refund of the booking amount he had paid to the developer, Arkade Art-Phase two, citing he couldn't arrange the remaining amount because of demonetization. However, the authority refused to give him any relief stating that no rules of MahaRERA were violated by the developer. Singh contended he had booked a flat in Evoke Arcade, Mira road, and had paid Rs 95,827 booking amount but, because of demonetization, he could not arrange money to complete the remaining payment. Tribune News Service Chandigarh, November 18 A selection committee headed by Justice Surya Kant of the Punjab and Haryana High Court has completed the process of interviews for the posts of member of the Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA). The Tribune has learnt that the committee constituted under the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016, under Justice Surya Kant, which includes Legal Remembrance Kuldeep Jain and Principal Secretary (Town and Country Planning) Arun Kumar Gupta, has completed the process of interviewing nearly 60 persons who applied for the posts of member of the two benches of RERA – Gurugram and Panchkula. Of the 68 persons who had applied for the RERA posts, nine had applied for the posts of chairperson only, 18 for both chairperson and member and 41 applied for the posts of member only. Mumbai: Woman duped of Rs 50 lakh on pretext of buying flat in Dadar 17.11.2017 central mumbai
A public prosecutor has lodged a complaint with the Dadar police after a man duped her of Rs 50 lakh after promising to sell her a flat in a society in Dadar West. The accused is a businessman, and posed as the owner of the flat, when it belonged to a corporate house. Police have booked Kekin Dedhia, 35, a resident of Dadar West, and one Ghevarchand Sharma, a real estate agent.
